My stay at the Embassy Suites near the Country Club Plaza had its ups and downs. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, which was a big plus. However, I encountered some plumbing issues and dated decor that diminished the overall experience. Parking was also quite expensive, adding to my expenses over the weekend.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and comfortable, but the plumbing had issues with the sink and bathtub. The air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times.
Service
7.0
The front desk staff were generally friendly and helpful, but I did experience some delays in service during busy times. One staff member, Ms. Ginger at breakfast, stood out for her friendliness and attentiveness.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, just across the street from the Country Club Plaza, making it convenient for exploring local attractions. I felt fairly safe in the area during my stay.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent, but it seemed like the food counters often got messy, and I noticed some shortcuts with the food service. I ended up eating out more than I originally planned.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like the pool area were nice and spacious, catering well to families. However, the parking garage left much to be desired due to its state of disrepair.

7.0/10

I had a mixed experience at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Kansas City Plaza. The location was fantastic, as it’s right across from a children's hospital and close to downtown. The complimentary breakfast was quite good, featuring made-to-order omelets and various hot items. However, the hotel could greatly benefit from renovations—my first room had a musty smell, and the overall cleanliness was subpar, with issues like old furniture and unkempt bathrooms.

Rooms
5.0
My initial room smelled musty, and while the next one was quieter, it still needed better upkeep. The furniture felt dated, and there was noticeable mold in the bathroom. It felt like a fresh coat of paint was in order to liven things up.
Service
8.0
The staff, especially Tammy, were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making my stay more enjoyable. I appreciated their willingness to help whenever needed.
Location
8.0
Being so close to various attractions and the children's hospital was a huge plus for me. I could easily explore downtown and found the area to be quite safe.
Dining
7.0
The made-to-order breakfast was a highlight of my stay. I really enjoyed the omelets and found the selection exceeded my expectations, making it one of the best aspects of the hotel.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was a nice feature, especially for families. However, the fitness center could use some upgrades, as the cardio equipment seemed outdated. Overall, the facilities were adequate but felt like they needed some attention.

I had high hopes for my stay at Embassy Suites By Hilton Kansas City Plaza, especially since they offered a complimentary evening happy hour, but I encountered some issues. While the bartenders like Kim and Andre provided friendly service and made me feel welcomed, my experience with the room and the breakfast left much to be desired. Overall, the friendly staff was a highlight, but the cleanliness and attention to detail really need improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was surprisingly dirty, with items left by previous guests and an odd smell. I had to deal with a flushing toilet and found more debris after checking in. Even after notifying the front desk, the cleanliness issues went unaddressed.
Service
5.0
The service received was variable. While some staff like the bartenders were warm and engaging, others were less attentive and not very helpful when I raised concerns about my room.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location is great for exploring Kansas City, but I had trouble with parking, which wasn’t included in the stay. I felt misled about that during booking, and it was inconvenient.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown; it lacked variety, and the food quality wasn't up to par. The omelet station was manned by a cook who seemed disinterested, and I found it hard to get utensils or clean plates.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was nice but had issues like broken stairs, making it less accessible for families. Availability of amenities like a working refrigerator in the room was also disappointing.

5.2/10

I found the Embassy Suites By Hilton Kansas City Plaza to have a great location near the Plaza, but the overall experience fell short due to various maintenance and housekeeping issues. The breakfast was a highlight, particularly the omelet station, but the cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. While the pool area was enjoyable initially, it unfortunately closed for repairs during my stay. Overall, it was a mixed experience with some positives and several areas needing improvement.

Rooms
6.0
My room was spacious and comfortable, providing enough space for my family. However, I found the showerhead was broken when I arrived and the cleanliness wasn't up to par. There was a lingering moldy smell that detracted from the experience.
Service
6.0
The service was a mixed bag. I received really good hospitality from some staff members, like those at the omelet station and the evening reception, but housekeeping was not attentive, as they failed to properly clean the room or restock supplies during my stay.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was excellent, as it allowed easy access to local attractions like the Plaza and an art museum. I really appreciated being able to walk to nearby restaurants and enjoy the city's vibe.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was definitely a standout, particularly the made-to-order omelets. The evening reception with complimentary drinks and snacks was also enjoyable, though I was disappointed that they ran out of ranch dressing one night.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was nice, featuring two pools suitable for different age groups. Unfortunately, one of the pools was closed for repairs which affected our plans. The condition of some facilities seemed run down and in need of attention.

5.0/10

My recent stay at Embassy Suites By Hilton Kansas City Plaza had its ups and downs. The hotel's location is definitely a plus, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. However, my experience was clouded by cleanliness issues and some outdated facilities. The breakfast service fell short of expectations, and the wait times for both the elevators and staff assistance were frustrating.

Rooms
5.0
While my room was spacious, it showed signs of wear, with old carpet and some dirtiness that made me uncomfortable. A large hair in the soap holder was particularly off-putting.
Service
5.0
I encountered some friendly and accommodating staff, especially during check-in. However, the breakfast staff struggled with demand, which contributed to my dissatisfaction.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location near attractions like the Nelson-Atkins Museum and various restaurants was excellent. This made exploring the Plaza very convenient, although the area is not ideal for casual strolls.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast experience was disappointing compared to previous stays. The food options were lacking, and during my visit, there was an absence of basic items like coffee and clean utensils.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area is sizable, which is great for families, but the overall amenities felt a bit outdated and the cleanliness could improve. The manager's reception was nice but marred by long lines.
